Over 800,000 Illegal Aliens Roaming Free under Biden’s Catch and Release

Since Biden took office, more than 800,000 illegal immigrants have been released into the country without a Notice to Appear (NTA) in immigration court. Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) noted, “we’ve seen 1.7 million illegal aliens deliberately admitted into this country, and another 1.2 million known got-aways have entered while the Border Patrol has been overwhelmed changing diapers and taking names.” Latest polling shows that 65% of Americans are opposed to Biden’s Catch and Release plan – they say DHS should detain border crossers and illegal aliens or simply deport them. Less than 20% say they support Biden’s catch and release.

NEWS ROLLUP: Over 800,000 Illegal Aliens Roaming Free under Biden’s Catch and Release

By News Rollup; February 6, 2023

Since Biden took office, more than 800,000 illegal immigrants have been released into the country without a Notice to Appear (NTA) in immigration court. This move is seen as a way to help alleviate overcrowding in detention centers and create space for more immigrants and asylum seekers.

The majority of these people are non-criminal immigrants who are being released on parole, which is a form of supervised release. They will be allowed to live in the United States while their cases are being processed. This move is seen as a way to help reduce the number of people being held in detention centers and to provide more humane treatment for those in detention.

The released individuals are not allowed to work in the United States, but they will be able to receive medical care, attend school, and get assistance from churches or other charitable organizations. They will also be required to check in with immigration officials on a regular basis.

While some have criticized the move, citing security concerns, the Department of Homeland Security has argued that it is a necessary step in providing humane treatment for those in detention. The department also argued that the release of 800,000 people would not overwhelm local communities, as the individuals will be closely monitored and will not receive any welfare benefits.

The move has been welcomed by those advocating for the humane treatment of immigrants and asylum seekers. They argue that it is a step in the right direction and will help protect the rights of vulnerable individuals who are seeking refuge in the United States.

However, Americans are, on a whole, largely opposed to Biden’s Catch and Release plan. The latest polling shows that 65% of Americans said the Department of Homeland Security should detain border crossers and illegal aliens or simply deport them. Less than 20% said they support catch and release.

This move is likely to have a significant impact on the U.S. immigration system, as it will allow for more people to be released from detention centers and potentially pave the way for more immigrants and asylum seekers to enter the country. It remains to be seen how this move will play out in the long term, but it is a positive step in the right direction.
